I worked a lot on the code lately so I didn’t have any visual update to post. However, I just finish the power-up system! A thing that would have take 2 hours to make in a modern game engine, took 20 hours!!! I had to manage memory issue, global variable madness and MMC3 banking extravaganza!
I posted a short gameplay footage on my Youtube channel. You can hear the music for the first time! You can also note that the top interface has changed quite a bit.
Also, the skull is making a strange move at 0:18 because I’m using the magnet item. It attracts the skull towards the paddle. It’s a fun and useful item.
You can also see the Cursed Bat power-up. It makes the paddles go the wrong way for a few seconds. I have yet to implement other power-ups, I have an idea list ready!
