Hi folks, I finally launched my kickstarter campaign this weekend. It has been an intense experience. The game is 95% finished. I’ve been working on the game full time for the last two years. I cannot afford a third year without income so that’s why I launched my campaign at this time.
I made a small mistake on the shipping price of the basic edition. I could not modify it since there was already some backers, so I had to create another identical pledge with a lower price, and write to my backers so that they modify their pledge! That’s a bummer… That’s what happens when you are alone in the project, making everything from marketing, to artwork and coding!
But I’m not totally alone. I do have some friends on board to help. James Rowe has taken care of the music driver and bank switching code. I owe him a lot. Charles Lemay, an experienced game developer, helped me with gameplay design. I value his feedback very much. My son Etienne is really helpful too. We had several brainstorming sessions together, it helped me a lot getting things in order. And last but not least, the guys at Broke Studio are always giving me nice feedback and support on the project.
The community as a whole has been helpful too. I get a lot of interactions, mostly on Twitter/X.
I’m working hard to finish this thing this summer and launch it this fall. We’ll wait a bit before producing the physical edition to make sure no bug could creep in the cartridge.
So head on to the campaign, be part of the adventure and grab that awesome physical edition!
